FFF2018: Opening Night – Q&A w/REAL BOY Director & Co-Producer Ryan Carrión moderates a Q&A following the screening of REAL BOY with director Shaleece Haas and co-producer Kyle Ranson-Walsh. REAL BOY is the award-winning documentary that tells an intimate story of a family in transition. As 19-year-old Bennett Wallace navigates early sobriety, late adolescence, and the evolution of his gender identity, his mother Suzy makes her own transformation from dismay to acceptance of her trans son. Along the way, both mother and son find support in their own communities, reminding us that families are not only given, but chosen.

Monkey Business: A Master Class in How to Make and Fund a Hit Doc This full team led by director Ema Ryan Yamazaki and other NYU Tisch alumni raised $350,000 to create the hit doc that collected awards across the country and landed a distribution deal with The Orchard. The Master Class with Director, Producer, Animator, Editor, Archivist, and Fund Raiser will walk us through the whole thrilling process.
