Every spring, Fusion mounts a multi-day film festival with multiple screenings, industry panels, pitch meetings, master-classes, retrospectives, and student showcases.
All requested information (name, loglines, contact information, etc.) and additional materials (if applicable, logline and screenshots) must be submitted in accordance with the specified rules on the online submission form. If the application is incomplete or materials are not submitted by the deadline, the project will be disqualified.
Applicants must only submit ONE project per category, and may not submit to more than TWO categories per festival year.
FUSION Film Festival is an educational festival offered exclusively within New York University Tisch School of the Arts accepting submissions ONLY from NYU current students and recent alumni. Work screened at Fusion does not constitute an official Premiere of any kind.
Must be a current NYU student or recent alumni (2015-2017)
Must have one of the following positions fulfilled by a female: DIRECTOR, CO-DIRECTOR, or CINEMATOGRAPHER (or CREATOR/SHOWRUNNER for Webseries only)
Time limit for Undergrad & Grad: 15 minutes including title and credits.
Time limit for Webseries: 6 minutes
Time limit for Animation: 10 minutes
Must be a current NYU freshmen.
Submission must have a FEMALE DIRECTOR.

Frame & Sequence: 5 minutes
Animation: 6 minutes
Sound Image: 8 minutes
Must be a current undergraduate student.
Must have one of the following positions fulfilled by a female: DIRECTOR, CO-DIRECTOR, or CINEMATOGRAPHER.
Time limit: 8 minutes including title and credits.
Must be a current NYU student or recent alumni (2015-2017)
Must have ONE of the following positions fulfilled by a female: DIRECTOR, CINEMATOGRAPHER, or EDITOR
Must be a work-in-progress and NOT a completed project.
Must be beyond the research stage.
Must be a first time submission for this category.
The finished film must be at least 30 minutes in length.
Director MUST be able to pitch the project in person and attend several workshops & rehearsals three weeks before the festival event which will be on April 6, 2018.
Timit limit (for trailer): 3-5 minutes
Written proposal should contain: Title of the project, Logline, Treatment that describes the story structure and narrative trajectory, or potential central character arcs for the project. Discuss your access to the story and characters. Describe why this topic is important, timely or relevant. Detail the topics, issues, challenges, stakes, or questions your project will cover. List project status and all the production crew.
